Customers' feedback on the Solo 471-KAT backpack blowerSolo 471 Backpack Blower This blower worked better than I thought. I have three properties, and it took no time at all to get the leaves rounded up. I let my daughter borrow it, and when she first turned it on, she was blowing over potted plants. etc., until she got a feel for the 250 mph winds. Robert B. (12/04/08) I have used the blower on four or five occasions and it is, so far, one of the best pieces of power equipment I have ever owned. It starts easily and quickly, runs very quietly, and easily moves the large piles of leaves that accumulate in my yard. Your price and service were excellent, and I would recommend the 471 to anyone needing a backpack blower. Bill C. Bill C. (12/04/08) I've used the Solo 471 Backpack Blower quite a few times since I received it. The first thing I noticed while reading the manual was that it required high test fuel and suggested use of a high-quality oil mixture fuel additive. When I first started it up, it kicked over immediately, idling a little rough (I may have mixed in a little too much oil). The other things I noticed were the lightness of the Solo 741 and its quietness. It has plenty of power for blowing the leaves and is comfortable to use. My only concern is that to do any maintenance on the unit, i.e., clean or change the air filter, the manual falls short of showing you how to get to it … but I'm sure I'll figure it out myself. Other than that, I am satisfied with my purchase. Mike C. (12/04/08) The SOLO 471 blower is a great machine. I use it to primarily blow leaves and gumballs (seeds from eastern gum trees) out of my wooded 1/2-acre lot. My two suggestions are to (1) look into a flat-end nozzle attachment to flatten the output stream. I am going to experiment with a homemade one soon; and (2) have a more secure tube attachment hardware at the elbow. Bob S., a satisfied customer (11/30/08) The blower has many positive features including easy starting, quiet operation, and high volume. Bobby B. (11/26/08) I love it! I used it today for 2 hours with no fatigue. It does use a lot of fuel at high rpm but the tank lasted the full 2 hours at full throttle. I appreciate the low noise. My hearing is not fatigued at all after 2 hours constant use. I would highly recommend it to others. The cruise control is the best thing since sliced bread. Tom G.
