Forearm Forklift - Moving strap system
Do you remember the last time you moved a piece of furniture, an appliance, a filing cabinet, or even a mattress? What about building materials such as wallboard or windows? All these items are awkward and heavy and may require assistance to move them. You could use a dolly if the object is not too big, but you run the risk of damaging the floor with either the item or the dolly blade. I recently discovered the Forearm Forklift, which I believe will make your next moving project a pleasure.
This strap moving system consists of two adjustable webbing (polypropylene) lifting straps that make carrying heavy and hard-to-handle furniture and appliances remarkably easy. The straps allow two individuals to carry large and heavy objects at a low center of gravity—just inches off the ground.
Designed to be worn around the forearms, the 3" wide and 9' 5" long straps are felt lined for comfort. The remainder of the strap passes under the item to be carried, reducing the burden of the object by 66 percent.
The beauty of this clever design is that it encourages proper body posture when lifting because it prevents individuals from bending way down to pick up an object or stooping to clear doorways. These handy lifting straps can help move objects over wood, vinyl, or tile floors without scuffs or damage. They're also great for moving bulky objects up and down stairs.
The straps easily return to their original 8"x8"x2.5" container so there's no need to store a bulky furniture dolly or handcart. The straps come in black and/or safety orange and offer up to 48 inches of adjustment (24 inches per forearm) depending on the dimensions of the object to be lifted and the height of the individuals who will level, balance, and move the object. The recommended weight capacity is 600 pounds, even though each strap has been tested at 1,360 pounds.
Whether you are a homeowner or a professional, use common sense to safely move large, clumsy, heavy objects. I found the straps worked as designed and were a great asset to my home improvement projects. To order the Forearm Forklift, click here or
